Adoption in Indiana General Information
Michele L. Jackson can provide legal adoptive services for your private or agency domestic adoption. If you already know your birth mother, an adoption agency is not necessary, except for counseling that may be necessary for the parties involved. Ms. Jackson works with several adoption agencies that can provide competent and attentive adoption counseling to the birth mother or adoptive parents. If you do not know your birth mother, Ms. Jackson works with adoption agencies to locate a birth mother for you and assist in the placement of a child.
Private Adoption: Adoption placements through an attorney typically without the assistance of an adoption agency.
Open Adoption: Birth Mother and Adoptive Parents are known to one another and typically personal contact continues after adoption between adoptive parents, child and birth mother.
Semi Open Adoption: Birth Mother has met Adoptive Parents but may not know their last names or their address. Adoptive Parents typically provide up-date letters and pictures to Birth Mother after the adoption.
Closed Adoptions: Birth Mother and Adoptive Parents have never met and Birth Mother does not know any identifying information about the Adoptive Parents.
