Domestic Adoption General Information
Michele L. Jackson can assist you with your domestic adoption. Ms. Jackson has completed both infant and stepchild adoptions. In addition, Ms. Jackson’s law firm has completed a number of second parent adoptions. Ms. Jackson will travel to any county in Indiana to complete an adoption. Ms. Jackson is also available to travel to surrounding states in order to complete adoptions where a child is born outside of Indiana but will be adopted here in Indiana.
Ms. Jackson can provide you with information on how to find a birth mother and complete your legal documents to finalize an Indiana adoption of an infant. In addition, Ms. Jackson can provide her legal assistance in the adoption of a stepchild.
Birthmothers often find it easier to talk to a female attorney. Ms. Jackson has talked with a number of birthmothers and truly believes that the success of a domestic adoption begins with educating the birthmother and making her feel comfortable with the process. Ms. Jackson strongly believes that the birthmother should have the opportunity to receive counseling from a qualified adoption counselor. Ms. Jackson is typically the attorney for the adoptive parents but wants to provide necessary services to the birthmother through qualified counselors. The more the birthmother believes in the adoption process, the more she will feel comfortable completing the process.
